Top Fitness Trends and Insights: Our Takeaways from the Inland Empire Fitness Conference 2022

Our team was able to attend the Inland Empire Fitness Conference this summer. We want to say thank you for giving us this opportunity to go better our craft, and grow as exercise specialists. We were able to hear from 12 different professionals and leaders in our industry. You may have noticed we have started to implement some of these techniques in your training since our return. Here are our biggest takeaways from this event:

Mike: “For me it's the power of team unity, continuing education and the need for collaboration with medical professionals was huge.”

Keanie: "The importance of inclusivity in fitness. The majority of our clients are at retirement age. Their biggest barrier to fitness is fear of injury. Their biggest incentive to exercise is independent living & quality of life. This just solidifies why we do what we do. SuperSlow is a safe, effective, and inclusive program. Every workout is an opportunity to teach our clients, and learn from them as well."

Linda: "Playing around with very slow negative movement with clients. Asking more questions about how they feel how this workout is helping them in every day life. Asking every client before their workout how they feel, listening and adjusting. Giving more direct feedback (good job focusing on your breathing, great on keeping your shoulders down) also trying to remind them where they should feel the movement. I LOVE how we now train each other!!! I feel like it's been a great team bonding and motivating activity."

Jake: "For me it was learning how the role of the personal trainer has expanded into much more than coaching people through an exercise routine. With the resources available to us now, we are able to incorporate nutrition, lifestyle and mental health coaching into what we do with our clients. Also, I found it fantastic that a good sized portion of our industry is moving towards practicing exercise and coaching in a much more clinical sense than ever before."

Brittany: "The biggest takeaway from the conference was just wanting to come back and be the best trainer I could be. It sounds cliché, but just hearing other people talk about their passion got me really excited to come back and train my clients. Just trying new techniques and being able to help people so they get the most out of their workout."

Thank you again. It is because of you that we are able to attend educational events like this, and it is you that motivates us to be better at what we do.
