  • Personal Trainer Mike Teater

    Mike Teater

    Mike graduated from the University Of Idaho in 1991 with a B.S. double major emphasis in Exercise Science/Corporate Wellness and Athletic Training. He also has minors in Nutrition, Physical Education and has three different personal trainer Certifications.

    He founded Exercise Institute in 1995, which has completed over 800,000 personal training sessions over the last 29 years and personally supervised over 150k training sessions himself.

    Mike started using High-Intensity principles in 1992 and became Super Slow Certified in 1994. Seeing the need for the workout to be done in a quiet, cool, private clinical facility rather than a traditional gym atmosphere.

    His latest and current project is as a partner in Imagine Strength, an exercise machine design, development, and manufacturing company. Imagine Strength's goal is to make and provide ideal resistance machines for high-end, knowledgeable trainers and therapists. Ideally suited for those who wish to age with strength, dignity, and independence. The Exercise Institute was one of two facilities that used the first prototypes and had input on improvements and new movement designs.

    Keanie Bedwell

    Keanie was born and raised in Coeur d’Alene, ID. She found her love of fitness in 2012. Seeing how living a healthy lifestyle positively impacted her life, she decided that she wanted to help others make the change as well. Originally an art major, Keanie returned to school to receive her Bachelor’s in Sports and Health Sciences, Fitness & Wellness Professional Studies from American Military University in 2017. She is also an ACE certified Personal Trainer, Health Coach, Nutrition Specialist, Senior Fitness Specialist, & Corrective Exercise Specialist.

    Keanie has been a part of the Exercise Institute team since 2019. Prior to EI, she worked in a physical therapy office. She understands the importance of maintaining strength and preventing injury. Keanie’s philosophy is: Exercise is Medicine. Her goal is to help people improve their health through physical activities & proper nutrition. Her personal favorite activities include weight training, hiking, paddle boarding, gardening & keeping up with her daughter, Charlie.

    Nathan Cook

    Nathan was born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and raised in Osburn, ID. He graduated from Wallace High School in 2011 and from the University of Idaho in 2018 with 2 bachelor's degrees—one in Exercise Science and Health and the second being Food and Nutrition.

    Nathan is a Certified Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine. He Started training at EI right after graduation for about a year and a half. After that, he moved to Bend, OR, where he opened his own personal training business and ran it for 3.5 years. He is now back to where he started! Nathan and his family made the move back to Coeur d’Alene to be closer to his extended family and for his wife to get her nursing degree.

    Nathan’s family consists of his beautiful wife, Alyssa, his sweet 4-year-old son Jackson, his sassy 2-year-old daughter Madilynn, and his cute little 5-year-old mini poodle Charlie.

    His hobbies consist of learning, football, and family.

    Linda Noble

    Linda’s passion for health and fitness began in Sweden at the age of sixteen, where she started instructing aerobics classes at a local gym. Ever since then, she has always looked to inspire people to live a healthy lifestyle. Linda was born and raised in Sweden, and fitness has always played a major role in her life. In 2000, she moved to the US and since then has had the privilege of working with so many amazing people in Arizona, California, Washington, and now Idaho.

    In her free time, she enjoys pretty much anything outdoors. Skiing, kayaking, camping, and hiking with her dogs are some of her favorite things. For over 30 years now, she has been sharing her energy and passion with others through her coaching to stay healthy and strong. Linda is an AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer. She is excited to be a part of your wellness journey!

  • Expert Personal Trainer Idaho

    Jake Wood

    Jake is a 34-year-old Gonzaga graduate from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Jake swam competitively on the local swim team for over 15 years, obtaining three State Records and qualifying for several high-level national events. He attributes much of his competitive advantage to the knowledge and weightlifting training he received from Mike Teater at the Exercise Institute in the latter half of his swimming career.

    In 2011, Jake focused his attention on obtaining an education in Environmental Studies from Gonzaga University, taking a specific interest in physiology and sports management. While attending Gonzaga in 2012, Jake began coaching weightlifting and dry-land training for the Coeur D’Alene Area Swim Team. During this time, Jake made it his personal goal to focus on safely preparing student-athletes for college-level competitive swimming, which helped Jake obtain a broad knowledge base of applied sports nutrition and injury prevention.

    Since his competitive career, Jake’s academic and recreational pursuits have remained in the realm of exercise and medicine, including specialized training in CrossFit, Olympic weight lifting, rock climbing, scuba diving, and kayaking.

  • Fitness Training Specialist Coeur d'Alene

    Kim Vassar

    Kim found a love for fitness at a young age, and it has shaped her entire life. She grew up in a complicated household and turned to sports and fitness as her outlet, and it paid in full! Kim’s love for fitness and sports drove her to try out for every sport she could in Jr. High and High School, and in doing so, she made incredible connections with her coaches and teammates and found a passion and purpose.

    Kim earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education/Exercise Nutrition. She worked herself through college doing corporate fitness, teaching group classes, and doing personal training. After graduating, she became the Fitness Director for Otis Spunkmeyer in San Leandro, CA., where she enjoyed working with a wide range of clients, event coordinating, health fairs, & sporting tournaments. She was the “cruise director” and had a lot of fun!

    Kim went on to start her own business 2B Fit in Los Altos, CA which she handed over to her partner and it is still going strong. Since then, she has been doing personal training virtually. In 2022, she joined the Exercise Institute team and was happy to get back into training in person again.

    In her free time, she likes to get outside. Kim loves to hike, bike, kayak, and find new places to explore. She loves sports, rodeo, and watching anything competitive. Family time for Kim is her greatest joy, and she has a lot of it around her here in Coeur D Alene, with two daughters, four grandsons, and one granddaughter. She is truly BLESSED!
